Hello All,

Our last Triathlon race of the season is a Team Sprint which is being held on the 15th April.

You need a team of either 2 or 3. One member needs to be a Triathlon Australia member. (If you are a non-member of Triathlon Australia and turn up on the morning of the race you may still be able to enter a team and race but this will depend on the number of on-line entries we have received (who will be given priority) and this will cost an additional $5.00 for your one day licence).

Please, for this one race it saves us a lot of work if you can enter online, as it assists the committee in planning and organising  future events for club members and new participants.  (We thank you in advance for your co-operation BTC!, and hopefully your on-line entry process is smooth.  If its not then tell us!!!).

The idea behind the Team Triathlon is to provide an accessible inclusive community event for all. And so its a chance to drag some newbies along to give ’em a taste of Triathlon !!! Effectively you get to share the load on this one and only occasion so don’t miss out.

It can be family members, work colleagues, Sports Clubs, Or Whatever! Just form a team and have a go !

Great job everyone for turning up and having a go at todays Duathlon. I have now posted the results, accessible through the Racing tab above. The race was designed in the system as a Triathlon and so your ‘Swim time’ is your 5 Km run time followed by 20 km bike time and 2.5 km run time.

We have our second last Swim-Run on Friday so only 2 more left this season and our next race is our last Triathlon race of the season and will be a TEAMS ONLY SPRINT. See attached flyer. Online entries are NOT open yet but should be by next weekend. As you can see its a fundraiser for the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter.

Congratulations and well done to all club members who raced last weekend. Some members raced the Ironman 70.3 in Geelong, others took on the Huskisson Tri yet some others had a crack in our local Club, Sprint and Enticer races at Prospect Lake. Conditions where near perfect for Sundays club race with good water temperature, mild winds and not too hot on the run. Thanks to all who turned up volunteered and raced!

I apologise for the late posting of results which was due to a Server Database issue which has now been rectified. Hoping for a big turnout at this Fridays Aquathlon. See you there and Happy Training :>

Congratulations and well done to all club members who competed at the Tweed Enduro and Sprint Triathlon at Pottsville on Saturday morning. It certainly felt like an endurance race when the temperature soared on the second of three run laps. There where several first timers at the Half Ironman 70.3 distance, many surprising themselves with their results and quite a few club podiums with Shane Flannery taking out age group 1st, Wes Thompson taking his age group 2nd, Leonie Pedrazzini age group 2nd and Millie Cooke age group 1st. Also a big Congratulations to Byron Bay local Matt (Slayer) Slee on successfully defending his title and taking out First place overall.

Club Triathlon Race 6 is being held this Sunday the 18th February with Enticer, Sprint and Club distance races at Prospect lake. Registration from 5:30 ish and online entries are now also open (through Racing tab) if you want to get it out of the way beforehand. Hope to see you all there!!

Hi all. Well done to all members who competed at Hell of the West last weekend. The triathlon fun isn’t stopping anytime soon with many club members lining up in either the sprint or the full Enduro at Pottsville on Saturday morning. Go Hard BTC but stay safe!!! Best of luck!!

Our next club race is on next weekend Sunday the 18th February. Hope to see you there for the usual enticer, sprint or club distance races.

Due to Friday being a public holiday and many people heading away for the weekend we are having a swim run on Thursday at the same time instead. Hope to see you there ! Happy Australia Day!

Hi all. Just before Christmas the committee made the decision to donate the proceeds of the “Andrew Scott Frame memorial run” to the “Ballina Lighthouse & Lismore Surf Life Saving Club”. I met with the president of the BLLSLSC, Mario Van Eck (Pictured) to make the donation. Mario was most grateful of the $900 which will be used to update and purchase essential life-saving equipment. These guys have agreed to help us out in the future when we need water safety ! Many thanks to all those who took part in helping to raise these funds.

Also, I have to apologise for the lack of results from Sundays Race. There is another issue with the Timing box which we are looking into. We are still hoping to be able to retrieve the results! Your patience and continued support is appreciated. Friday Swim-Run as usual this week. Hope to see you there.

Happy New Year everyone. Hope everyone has had a nice break over the festive season and that we’re all ready to get back into training and racing for 2018. What better way to start than with a hit out this coming Sunday the 14th with the usual Enticer, Sprint and Club distance races. Or bring along the kids and race with them in the ‘Kids race”(see Flyer). Online registration is now available or come down on the morning. Hope to see you all there!! Happy Training !!
